Program Manager success story
Hello readers! I wanted to share with you the success story of a Program Manager candidate who just recently started at Microsoft. Please meet Vishwac Sena Kannan, a college hire who now works as a Program Manager within the IE group!
Vishwac has put together some great tips and tricks that will not only help explain how to prepare for a PM interview, but will really help anyone prepare for any technical interview at Microsoft. He's a great addition to the Microsoft family and I hope you enjoy his post.

My goodness. I have never seen anyone with such depth of preparation for an interview in my whole life. Anyone with that lengthy of a preparation that doesn't get the job, regardless of the role, I would go off and say "What's wrong with this world?"

Could you tell us more about PM hire without IT experience? Let's say business degree, PM certificate, and 1 year experience in marketing/PM in business role?

OK, this isn't PM related, but it is somewhat related to venom viper's comment. This post by a Google engineer was as a good a description of what they look for when recruiting engineers as I've seen anywhere. There's a lot of stuff there (which is what made me think of venom viper's comment) but I'd bet that MS hits all the same algorithmic/data structures stuff in their interviews as well.

In my experience being able to talk/code confidently around a variety of intermediate and advanced data structures usually impresses interviewers.
