What should I do during a lunch interview?

Dear

Dear JobsBlog: I've never done a lunch interview before, but I've heard horror stories about candidates being so nervous they forget basic table manners or get a huge chunk of broccoli stuck in their teeth. How can I enjoy my meal and still impress a hiring manager? Any suggestions on what to order and how to avoid awkwardness?

    Great podcasts, thanks!

We advise our clients that a lunch interview serves to achieve two additional criteria that a typical interview doesn't:

    1. It enables the interviewer gets a better sense of your personality as to your 'organizational fit' within the company or team they are looking to place you.

    2. And a more accurate gauge of how 'personable / presentable' you are in a social setting (ie. could they use you to do something similar with clients).

Of course you are still in an interview so be well prepared but delivery of your answers should come across more relaxed and conversational. You should also know that very few get the opportunity for a lunch interview, at this stage you are most likely one of two or three candidates. Fleur Wiig, CEO ResumeTemplates-USA

Great advice guys! Sounds like applicants should definitely pack some snacks for what hopefully will be a long day of interviewing. Especially, given the "working lunch", as you probably won't be able to fill your word-hole to your liking. Adding to Lisa's point...avoid the tuna fish sandwich!
