Microsoft's greatest strength: people
What makes a workplace great? What makes a product or service world class and life changing?
The answer: people.
A great workplace provides the opportunity to learn. As much as you will learn here at Microsoft on the technical front, you will also learn from the people you interact with - customers, coworkers, managers, that guy with the Powerset Pigeon t-shirt on. What you learn will help shape the person you are and the product/services you work on – or at least challenge you to think in a way you never thought you would.
As a worldwide company that hires the best talent from across the globe (and down the street), we employ people who are pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technology. These people have a wide range of experiences, backgrounds, thought and expertise that help shape a great place to work and amazing products/services that everyone can use and will want to use in the future.
How do we meet people? The usual avenues and more. More meaning: virtually – reaching an audience over the web. Connecting.
And how do people learn about us? The Online Services Division (OSD) hosts quarterly Virtual Career Fairs for candidates around the world. OSD is comprised of Bing, MSN, and our Ads Platform. Attendees get an intimate view into featured groups and talk one-on-one with hiring managers and get their questions answered by recruiters – an intimate and safe place to ask questions.
OSD’s next Virtual Career Fair is in July and we will be talking with Canadian Women in Engineering. I love talking to people about their experiences and background because you are so much more than just your technical skills. You have a lot more to bring to Microsoft and we expect you to share your experiences and expertise with us.

Very well written and absolutely spot on! I have seen what an amazing turnaround staff / employees can bring to any organisation no matter how small or large?
I am certainly looking forward to July's Virtual Career Fair with OSD.
