Hello JobsBlog readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season filled with good health, family and friends.

Speaking of holiday seasons, there may be another hot toy out there in 2010... so get ready. The Mattel company is currently holding a contest to determine Barbie’s next occupation and computer engineering is one of the options!

You have until February 12th to vote for her next career -- I voted and so should you!! This could really put a new technology titan on the map… Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and, now, Barbie.

    The funny thing is, this might plant the seed for more women to enter the IT industry. I mean, give it a few years so that they stop playing with Barbie and finish their education but it plants the seed of an IT career in young girls and the industry could definitely use more balance.
