Tour Microsoft’s campus dining
Did you know—just at our Redmond campus—we have 33 cafes, 37 espresso kiosks, and 500 kitchenettes stocked with 35 different kinds of free beverages?
Tina over at Channel9 sat down with Mark Freeman of Microsoft Dining to give us a behind the scenes tour of Microsoft’s on-campus cafes and restaurants, including the Commons. In addition to serving 35,000 meals a day (wow!), Microsoft Dining also does a great job providing local food and brand options to employees and operating a “3 star green” service—the only corporate campus in the world that holds that distinction.
Bonus material:
- Around minute 6, check out Mark’s explanation of why our spoons melt in our soup. Mystery solved!
- At minute 7, don’t miss a fun list of Microsoft Dining statistics. We know you love numbers.

I particularly love the attention MS Dining pays to ensuring vegan/vegetarian options, and that they do so well accommodating food allergies. Anyone who has particular requirements around food knows how frustrating it can be to eat well in corporate cafes - not here! I love that I can eat veggie pho one day, vegan Thai food another, or great veggie Indian food another - and at company events, knowing there will be a good veg*n option is a relief.

Looks pretty sweet! We only have a coffee machine here at http//www.jobinaclick.co.uk , but I think we still do a pretty good job ;) Wouldn't mind paying a visit to Redmond though! Haha, Luke

Impressive. It looks like just a campus hall with all those restaurants. Very interesting!
